This feels like a premium product. Good screen, solid build quality, and a genuinely excellent keyboard. The top processor spec makes it fantastically responsive.
The problem is that it’s still just a Chromebook. If everything you do is in a browser, then great. But if 98% of what you do is in a browser, you’ll be amazed at how annoying the remaining 2% can be. Google has recently removed Cloud Print support. Office apps are missing key functionality. You can’t open multiple instances of an app. The OS isn’t adequate for a child’s homework, let alone any serious use.
And if all you’re doing is browsing the web, you might as well get a tablet, as it’ll be much lighter.
So this device fits a very specific niche: browser-based work that needs a good keyboard. If that’s you, this is a beautiful little machine.

Bought this as a laptop for college as I already have a desktop PC at home. If you are like me in this sense, I really recommend getting a chromebook like this one, especially this particular one. The battery is great I usually get about 2 days of use out of it before recharging. The ability to download android apps is very convenient. Some reviews/parts of the description of this laptop mention there being a touchscreen on it but there isn’t. For the price however I was neither expecting a touchscreen, nor do I need a touchscreen so I am content.
